Minzi pictures

Well we got her, and it was a whirwind day. She didn't cry at all when left with us, and Alayne even got her smiling pretty quick! But we could tell she was still hesitant about her new surroundings. She was very quiet for the most part, but by dinner Alayne got her to start talking a little and pointing to things. We could tell it was a glimpse of her personality showing through when she was feeling a little more comfortable. All in all she has been great today, but we know there is a way to go for her to make this transition. Here are a few pictures from the day.

They don't heat buildings here (except hotels)(and it's 35 deg outside) so they dress their babies up in many layers. She came wearing 4 sweaters, 2 coats, 4 pants, 2 socks, scarf, and a hat! (they wear winter coats in the office buildings)

What a precious little gift from God!!! She's adorable, and the pictures really show how you are all off to a great start together! It's 2 a.m. on Thursday there, so we'll say a prayer for a peaceful first night together!

Leanne and Robbie (Tim and Lilly, too, but they are at work/school)

Joel, I miss you bugging me this time of day so I had to resort to IM'ing Robson.

Yes, I am at work, but Robson and I were just checking out your pictures and I had to write since she is so cute -- I mean Minzi (sorry Alayne).

I hope that is OK that I updated the Twin Cities Spoke website with the great picture of the three of you.

A BIG IC3 CONGRATULATIONS TO THE BOELKE'S!

Congratulations on your beautiful daughter! Glad you are surviving. I can truly relate to the layers as the school I taught at for 2 years in China was in the area with no heat. Praying that all goes well in the coming days!

You all look so good! I am so thankful that the first meeting went so well. God is at work! She is even smiling! I ran into Pierce and Marilyn at Cub yesterday. They looked great. Pierce had a great big smile and was actually the one who spotted me. I loved his comment on the site:) Thank you for posting the pictures. I check your site everyday! I am going to give it to YaYa's family at work today. Talk to you soon. Love, Cyndi

You guys are great! Welcome to the family, Minzi. We trust that the remaining legs of your journey will be safe and secure for everyone. In Houston, we have Yao Ming on our Houston Rockets basketball team and he has just been made a member of the Western Conference All Star Team. Maybe you can come to Houston and see him play.

We love you.
