Pictures from yesterday

Yesterday (Sunday) we met our group from our agency. There are four other families, one from Michigan, one from Utah, and two from Minnesota. We went over paperwork, took group pictures, and then went on an excursion to get the children's visa pictures taken. Our guide Molly is a college student here, studying English. She has lots of energy and does a good job keeping us together. We took pictures of the kids on the infamous "red couch" in their traditional Chinese clothes.

We loved the group photograph and imagine you will all stay in communication with one another once you reach home turf. Your dad says "keep sending pictures" as we are really enjoying those and feel we are experiencing everything through you. Isn't it a bit sad, though, how American marketing (Micky D's and Starbucks) has infiltrated even the most obscure and foreign areas? I do suppose it's helpful for someone who may have an aversion to eating local food as sometimes there is NO telling what it may be. Good luck with all the paperwork.

All our love, Dad and Caroline
